About Us

Since 1995, Lorain County Community College has proudly hosted the North Sectional Basketball Tournament for Special Olympics Ohio. Teams from all over Northern Ohio - and sometimes even beyond - travel to the campus of LCCC for this four-day event.

About the Special Olympics

What Makes Us Special?

  • Special Olympics Hoops at LCCC is completely volunteer-driven. Our operating committee consists of friends, colleagues and members of the community who freely give of their time and talents to provide an exciting environment for the athletes, their families, and friends.

    Who We Are
  • More than 600 athletes that have varied developmental disabilities and delays, and over 1,500 supporters, volunteers and family members come to our campus for this annual event. That’s a total of over 2,300 people who travel to the LCCC campus over the course of four days!
